Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry
We believe the teen years are some of the most formative and life changing times of a person’s life. For this reason, we are very intentional in our Student Ministry. We desire for students to know who they are in Christ and find what direction and calling He has for their life. Every activity, trip, Bible study, retreat, camp, and fellowship are designed to help students grow in their relationship with God, to teach them how to reach out to others with the gospel, and to discover the joy of serving in the church and community.
Building Faith Through Community
Opportunities for Fellowship & Worship
Youth Fellowship
Wednesday Nights from 5 PM -6:45 pm is our regular fellowship time. The Family Life Center building and youth area are open and offer food and multiple opportunities to build relationships with other students as well as adult volunteers.
Youth Worship
Wednesday Nights at 6:45 PM, students (7th grade -College), youth volunteers, and parents who choose to join in, will come together to worship in song and Bible study. Just as He does with adults, God uses the preaching of His word to minister to students.
Small Group Study Times
Sunday Mornings at 9 AM. There are groups for all ages:
7-12 Boys group
7-8 Girls group
9-12 Girls group
College Boys/young men
College Girls/young ladies
Our small groups for 7th grade through college age meet via Sunday school on Sunday mornings at 9AM. Click here to find the teachers and locations for each group.
Mentorship or Leadership Opportunity
We believe that investing in the younger generation is a big deal and that it takes lots of people to come together to accomplish this great task. Those who are interested in becoming a youth counselor must fill out an application, background check, and meet with Bro. Nathan. If the applicant is approved, they will then be given specific training, tools, and discipleship to prepare them for student ministry. If you are feeling led to assist in the student ministry of the church contact Bro. Nathan.
Annual activities
Youth Events
Youth Evangelism Summit (YES)
YES is a weekend conference in February which is sponsored by the Kentucky Baptist Convention. Its goal is to “inspire and equip churches and their student ministries to be on mission for God.”
Worship at the Bowling Alley
This is an annual night during the Easter season where we move our youth service to the local bowling alley for great fellowship and a time of worship, as our normal youth worship area is used as a staging area for The Promise costumes and props.
Vacation Bible School –
The Big Summer Kickoff
Join us for our annual week of fun and Bible study each May as we prepare for the busy summer months. This also kicks off our weekly summer youth activities on Wednesday evenings, following the regular worship service.
Youth Camp
Youth Camp is a longstanding tradition for the first week of June. We travel to Camp Nikao in Elizabethtown for a week of teaching and preaching the Word, dynamic worship services, and fun team activities.
Mission Trip
We believe it is important to instill a love for missions at an early age. With this in mind, in conjunction with our churchwide mission project each July, we actively encourage participation from our youth as we seek to share Jesus with a lost world.
Current River Float Trip
Lambert’s Cafe
Each year in August, we travel to Doniphan, MO for our Current River float trip. After a day on the river, we head to Lambert’s Cafe in Sikeston for a fun meal. This is always a great time of fellowship for our youth.
Six Flags
Is it even a youth ministry if you don’t make a trip to an amusement park? You will want to join us for an exciting day of roller coasters, junk food, and great fellowship. This trip is normally scheduled in September each year.
Disciple Now Weekend
D-Now weekend is a time of refreshing and getting into the Word for our youth. This overnight event is held in October at The Hill in Hardin, KY.
Friendsgiving
This is our annual Thanksgiving celebration for our youth and is held in November.
Youth Christmas Celebration
Each December, we dedicate an evening to focus on the true meaning of the Christmas season.
Graduates’ Dinner
This is our annual dinner which is held in May to honor our graduating high school seniors.
