Children’s Ministry
Our mission within the Children’s Ministry at Trace Creek is to teach our children who their Creator is, what He has done for them through His Son Jesus, and how their relationship with Christ will help them through the difficult situations they may face in this life.
Our goal is to partner with our parents so that we can ultimately teach our kids to KNOW Christ so that they can GROW in their relationship with Him and go out into this world to SHOW His love.
Matthew 28:19-20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;…”
Proverbs 22:6 – Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Age Groups
Nursery
(Birth – 24 months)
The Lord continues to bless us with Infants, Crawlers, and Toddlers who need the love of Christ. We realize our awesome responsibility to make an impact in the lives of these little ones. The nursery ministry enables the parents of these young children to become actively involved in Bible study and ministry. It also allows us to show love, care, and compassion to each child at a very impressionable age. Childcare for this age group is provided for all weekly services.
Preschool
2 yr olds – Preschool 4 & 5 yr olds
The Preschool ministry provides parents with a safe and loving childcare environment in which they can confidently place their children under the care of teachers who wish to show Christ’s love. Preschool children can and are developing the foundational truths of God’s character. The Sunday School time is focused instruction that leads children through the Old & New Testaments. The curriculum that is used is called HeartShaper.
Grade School
K-6th Children’s Church
The Grade School ministry focuses on building intentional relationships. We dive deeper into foundational truths about God, His Son, and salvation. We utilize God’s word to look at this life here on earth through the lens of the Bible. One of our biggest goals is to partner and equip parents to help disciple children. Our AWANA clubs help us towards that goal with weekly bible lessons, life application, and scripture memory.

Children’s Events
Glow Egg Hunt
There are lots of eggs to be found at the Trace Creek annual Egg Hunt. Families with children who are Toddlers through 6th grade are invited to help us find all of these eggs. The hunt occurs on the Sunday before Easter following the morning service. The location is in the Family Life Center with treats to follow.
This service takes place at the beginning of the worship service on either Mother’s Day (odd years) or Father’s Day (even years). A dedication portion of the service is set aside as a special time to recognize new children and encourage the parents in the Word and prayer. Parents of babies born or adopted during the past year may participate in the dedication service. For more information, please email Monica Rogers.
We kickoff each summer with VBS the week after school finishes. Families come together for a whole week to enjoy a VBS Fellowship Meal at 5:30 pm and exciting VBS activities at 6:30 pm. It is a great time of Bible teaching and fun for the whole family!
VBS is designed for the whole family to attend. We will have children classes, teen studies, and an adult class for anyone not attending with children.
Each Labor Day weekend, 3rd-6th graders have a dynamic experience with their friends and counselors in a weekend full of games, Bible studies, skits, hayrides and life-changing relationships. Parents are also invited to attend! Check out one of our camp videos HERE!
Candy at the Creek
Join us for our beloved event, Candy at the Creek, happening on October 31 every year! We are dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for families as a Halloween alternative. You will experience fantastic fellowship, exciting games, and an abundance of candy. We can’t wait to share this delightful evening with you and your loved ones. Mark your calendars!
Safety Measures
Keeping our children safe is of our utmost importance. We have a dedicated children’s wing for babies-6th Grade that our security volunteers monitor. Each volunteer serving in the classroom or on security has undergone a background check and training on our safety measures. Families visit our child check-in station before taking their children to their classes.
Parental Involvement
The most important way parents can get involved with children’s ministry is by prayer first. We want to ensure that all we do within the Children’s ministry at Trace Creek follows God’s will. Pray for wisdom, our children, volunteers, and our Minister of Children. Parents can get plugged into many areas within the children’s ministry. If you want to serve in one of the areas within the Children’s Ministry, Bro. Brandon would love to talk with you about current serving opportunities.
Staff & Volunteers
We have over 110 volunteers who serve each week in our children’s ministry through nursery, Sunday school, AWANA, and our Future and Next Generation services. We are always in need of additional volunteers in our ever-growing children’s ministry. If you would like to volunteer, contact Bro. Brandon for more information.
Registration Process
We utilize numerous means to provide access for registration for our children’s activities. Those can be found on our website, Facebook page, weekly church bulletin, or physical forms at a staffed table in the foyer. Parents can register children with volunteer assistance at our nursery check-in station, which is located in the foyer.
